About Us

Who is Xymat

 Xymat is a premier manufacturer of contract manufacturing using machining, welding, fabrication and assembly technologies to service multiple market sectors.  Aerospace, DOE, DOD, Energy, Mining and Commercial are being supplied by Xymat.  We are a full service provider and operate under a rigorous quality management system and ASME NQA-1 compliance for our NNSA customers. 

Products and Services of Xymat

 Xymat is a specialty contract machining and fabrication company operating two facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.  One facility is our central machining operations with CNC machining, turning, milling, and water jet cutting while the other facility is for our precision welding, CNC routing, CNC laser cutting, fabrication and final assembly operations.  Xymat has multi-axial CNC machines, extensive semi-automated and manual GTAW and GMAW processes along with the new Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process. Xymat maintains a welding program that is compliant with ASME and AWS codes as dictated by customer requirements.

    Product Highlight - High Strength Aluminum Assemblies

    Use of high strength aluminum enables deeper water regions for mining, drilling and rock dumping.  The use of friction stir welding enables Xymat to produce such products at a cost equivalent to steel assemblies

    Materials and Weld Procedure Qualification Experience

    • Xymat maintains a rigorous NQA-1 compliant quality management system and is formally audited and approved as a Qualified Supplier to multiple DOE sites

    The Team

    Douglas J Waldron

      

    Douglas J Waldron is President & Chief Executive Officer of Xymat Co, LLC, A strong advocate for advanced manufacturing technologies, he involves those around him in advancing profitability through the use of these core manufacturing processes. While responsible for the entire P&L operations at Xymat he also maintains the responsibilities CTO.


    Douglas J Waldron has a unique background as demonstrated with his success of his career. He has been awarded numerous technical achievement awards and is recognized by his peers as an expert in his field. He has been awarded with 26 US and international granted patents. He was the youngest engineer ever to be elected into The Boeing Company Technical Fellowship program. His contributions to the manufacturing operations field were recognized domestically from NASA on the space shuttle program office and internationally with awards from The Welding Institute, Cambridge, UK.


    Douglas J Waldron received his degree from the College of Engineering, Utah State University in 1984. He started his career with Martin Marietta, New Orleans, LA working on the NASA space shuttle external tank program. He was recruited to southern CA to work for the Rocketdyne Company on their advanced and US classified programs. He later joined McDonnell Douglas / The Boeing Company, in support of the US government space launch initiatives. Credited with the first ever certification and production use of a new welding process named friction stir welding (FSW) in 1995 on the Delta II rocket. He was also successful at spinning out of The Boeing Company, a manufacturing start-up company and demonstrated a very successful business leadership career with the start-up and operational status of Advanced Joining Technologies, Inc which generated over $250M in sales using advanced manufacturing technologies such as friction stir welding to market sector leaders in aerospace, commercial & military aircraft, and the oil & gas sectors.


    In his free time Doug loves to spend time outdoors whether skiing in winter or at his off-grid cabin and spending time with his family with 20 grandkids. 

    David Kailey

      

     David Kailey oversees the production and manufacturing of products for Xymat Co, LLC.  David has been employed by Xymat Co, LLC, formally known as JLM Products & Design since 2001.  David believes that by producing smart advanced technological products, the environment can be maintained and restored for future generations to use.  David uses his knowledge of manufacturing these products to secure contracts with the US Department of Energy and US Department of Defense.


    David has earned and awarded a CWI (Certified Weld Inspector) from the American Welding Society.  This further enables that the products being manufactured are properly produced and the integrity of said products is sound.  David has been able to grow with this company to obtain this certification and become the General Manager.


    David has held positions including Cost Accounting/Inventory Control, Production Control, Purchasing. Project Management, Manufacturing management, HR and most recently promoted to General Manager. He manages operations for the Machining Center, Precision Weld Center, Friction Stir Weld Center, Wood Product Center, Fabrication / Assemblies Center.

     

    David has his certification for CAD from Pikes Peak Community College and is currently enrolled in Colorado Christian University with an emphasis in Business Administration as Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He also oversees the Media Ministry at Cross Fellowship Church as a Media Director for the past 10 years.


    In his free time David enjoys hiking, mountain biking, digital photography, and family activities.

    Tom Pollmiller

       Tom Pollmiller provides Xymat and Clients advice on multiple quality management systems from ISO 9001-2015, AS9100 and NQA-1. Tom is a driving force in Xymat’s ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer requirements. He will capitalize on opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction and demonstrate continual conformity with specific quality management system requirements.


    Tom Pollmiller retired from the U.S. Army in 2003. Quality Management is a second career. In 2004, Tom started in manufacturing as a Quality Inspector and as advancement opportunities presented themselves, Tom accepted new and various positions – eventually advancing into quality management. With 17 years’ experience in manufacturing and over 25 years as a proven leader. Throughout his career, he has contributed to positive business results through effective organization, prioritization, and follow through of key organization projects.


    While Tom served in the Military, he attended many leadership development courses. In his second career, Tom has completed ISO 9001-2015 Lead Auditor training, basic and advanced CMM training for contact and non-contact CMM’s. He was instrumental in the implementation and certification to ISO 9001-2008 for one company and ISO 9001-2015 for two companies. Tom has a wide range of knowledge and experience in the implementation of manufacturing ERP systems. 


    In his free time, Tom enjoys spending time with his family in the mountains of Colorado skiing and fishing. He is also an advanced potter, throwing pottery when he is not in the mountains.
